Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a CAD/PLM specialist to design, assemble, and release avionics components for the Transfer Stage Vehicle in the Lunar Permanence unit. You will develop CAD models, ensure data release quality, and interface with other subsystems to place avionics boxes accurately in the vehicle model.

The role demands strong GD&T knowledge, experience with Creo and Windchill, and a collaborative mindset to drive cost-efficient, high-quality outputs for spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD or related field is required.
• 4+ years of aerospace development or similar experience is required.
• Proficiency with Creo Parametric and Windchill for design release.
• Knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5 and tolerance analysis.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
• Experience designing spacecraft avionics parts and assemblies.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team and select materials and processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ownership of tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts and release data sets using CAD/PLM tools.
• Create detail parts, assemblies, and install models.
• Place avionics boxes in the vehicle model and verify interfaces.
• Review drawings to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
• Apply standard engineering/manufacturing methods to balance cost, schedule, and performance.
