Description

WORK LOCATION: This position offers a hybrid/flexible work schedule, combining on-site work at the Sargent & Lundy office in Peachtree Corners with remote work from home.

• Under the guidance of the Mechanical Project Lead, collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams to develop mechanical physical layout drawings in 3D models.
• Handle challenging assignments including designing mechanical/structural systems and troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical and structural issues.
• Use 3D modeling software to generate mechanical and structural design drawings.
• Serve as the Mechanical/Structural Responsible Designer, coordinating detailed design phases within an integrated mechanical model.
• Coordinate and guide other designers and team members to ensure complete and timely designs.
• Plan and execute design deliverables such as general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location drawings independently.
• Potentially conduct field walkdowns and data collection at client facilities.
• Mentor less experienced drafters and designers to support their development.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience include:

• An Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with 4+ years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 10 years of detailed physical design experience in mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Proficiency with design software for creating 3D plant layout models.
• Experience reviewing mechanical equipment, interface points, and developing related deliverables.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering and design teams across disciplines in power plant design.

Valued but not required:

• Proficiency with MicroStation.

Compensation Range

$73,290.00 - $112,860.00
