The City of New York’s Department of Design & Construction, Division of Public Buildings, Architecture and Engineering Unit seeks a Mechanical Engineer II. The role focuses on in-house design for the capital construction program, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, fire protection and energy conservation, reviewing consultant documents, and conducting site inspections.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in mechanical engineering work.
• A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License.
• A masters degree in mechanical engineering may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsabilités

• In-house design for DDC's capital construction program including heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, fire protection and energy conservation.
• Project scoping, design and constructability review of consultant drawings and specifications (utilizing AutoCAD and BIM).
• Site inspections and reports, ad hoc technical investigations; condition surveys; in-house design (utilizing AutoCAD and BIM).
• Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, and technical staff.
