Job summary

City of New York seeks an experienced Architect as Construction Project Manager for the Division of Public Buildings, Architecture and Engineering. The role leads project scope development, reviews documents, and administers construction for in-house projects.

The candidate coordinates multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with schedules, budgets, and codes, and interfaces with sponsors, consultants, contractors, and project managers.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of full-time experience managing and/or inspecting construction projects with total cost of at least $300,000 per year.
• One year of the described experience plus a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction or related field.
• One year of the described experience plus a professional license as PE/RA/Landscape Architect.
• Combination of at least two years of the described experience and the education in item 2 to equal five years total.
• For Level II/III, additional years of experience in Assignment Level I or II; may require valid NY driver license.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scope and analyze existing conditions and forensic aspects.
• Review design and construction documents prepared by consultants.
• Prepare and review documents and provide construction administration for in-house design projects.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to meet schedules, budgets, and codes.
• Interface with sponsors, consultants, contractors, project managers, and staff.
