Job summary

NYS Office of General Services is seeking a licensed engineer to design and review plumbing, piping, fire protection and heating/ventilating systems for new and rehab construction projects in Albany. You will prepare mechanical specifications, estimates and energy studies while ensuring compatibility with existing building structures.

The role may involve supervising consultants and carrying out full supervisory duties. Travel may be required and a driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• FE Exam passed with qualifying degree or experience as listed.
• One year of full-time mechanical engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, or redesign plumbing, piping, fire protection and HVAC systems for new or rehab projects.
• Prepare mechanical specs, estimates and energy conservation studies.
• May supervise consultant work and perform supervisory duties.
