Job summary

Your Talent Team is partnering with a Buffalo area client to recruit a Senior Engineering Manager responsible for leading product design engineering and the development of engineered solutions from customer requirements through design validation and production release. You will guide technical decisions, review detailed designs, and mentor engineers while maintaining project delivery and product quality.

Qualifications

• Progressive product design engineering experience.
• Engineering leadership experience managing people and multiple projects.
• Strong command of mechanical design, verification methods, and materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, establish priorities, allocate resources, and manage project commitments.
• Provide hands-on technical direction for product architecture, mechanical design, materials selection, tolerances, and design verification.
• Lead concept, preliminary, and detailed design reviews; challenge assumptions and resolve technical risks before release.
• Translate customer performance, environmental, and interface requirements into clear engineering specifications and validation plans.
• Oversee drawings, bills of materials, design calculations, engineering changes, and controlled product release.
• Partner with sales and customers on technical feasibility, proposals, and custom product solutions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality to improve manufacturability, address field or production failures, and support new product introduction.
• Build engineering capability through coaching, clear technical standards, and consistent design and project management practices.
