Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a client, a manufacturer of temperature sensors, sealing products, and engineered assemblies, for a Senior Engineering Manager in Buffalo, NY. You will lead product design engineering and drive development from customer requirements through Design Validation and Production Release.

You will guide technical decisions, review detailed designs, mentor engineers, and ensure project delivery and product quality while collaborating with sales,

Qualifications

• Progressive product design engineering experience with responsibility for complex technical decisions.
• Engineering leadership experience managing people and multiple projects.
• Strong command of mechanical design, CAD, GD&T, materials, and verification methods.
• Ability to guide engineers through difficult design problems and reviews.
• Clear communication with customers, commercial teams, manufacturing personnel, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, set priorities, allocate resources, and manage project commitments.
• Provide hands-on technical direction for product architecture, mechanical design, materials, tolerances, and verification.
• Lead concept, preliminary, and detailed design reviews; challenge assumptions and resolve technical risks before release.
• Translate customer performance, environmental, and interface requirements into clear engineering specifications and validation plans.
• Oversee drawings, bills of materials, design calculations, engineering changes, and controlled product release.
• Partner with sales and customers on technical feasibility, application requirements, proposals, and custom product solutions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality to improve manufacturability, address field or production failures, and support new product introduction.
• Build engineering capability through coaching, clear technical standards, and consistent design and project management practices.
