Blue Origin is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design, integration, and testing of mechanical hardware for New Glenn stages. You will partner with analysts, materials, procurement, manufacturing, and test teams to deliver optimized assemblies for vehicle integration and operation.

The role emphasizes design and integration skills, Creo-based modeling, GD&T application, and independent rapid development work on mission-critical aerospace hardware. U.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience designing aerospace or mission-critical mechanical systems.
• Strong mechanical design and integration using 3D modeling tools.
• Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Ability to work independently on rapid development programs.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Experience leading at least 1 multi-person development project.

Responsibilities

• Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, and repair mechanical systems hardware.
• Support design and integration activities; resolve roadblocks to enable integration tasks.
• Design, release, and support engineering artifacts across the product life cycle for fabrication, assembly, verification, test, and operations.
• Researches and analyzes data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance needs of designs.
• Owns system components and modifies designs to meet specs.
• Investigates equipment failures and provides maintenance recommendations.
• Provide technical support for mission readiness test activities.
