Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Sr Mechanical/Project Engineer - Integration to design, integrate, and activate large-scale ground mechanical systems for the Cape Canaveral launch site. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 10+ years of experience with large, complex mechanical systems.
• Proven design and systems integration/activation experience.
• Hands-on experience managing mechanical-system integration, testing and activation.
• Experience leading mechanical designs from concept through commissioning.
• CAD-based mechanical design experience.
• FEA analysis experience.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience with heavy-duty mechanism design and bolted connections.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop large-scale mechanical ground systems, mechanisms, and GSE.
• Perform and review FEA and hand calculations for complex systems.
• Serve as primary contact for mechanical systems integration, testing, and activation, coordinating with engineers and technicians.
• Develop and drive integrated fabrication, assembly, installation, testing, and activation schedules; identify critical path and resolve conflicts.
• Track deliverable status, issues, and risks; communicate with program leadership and drive mitigation.
• Oversee external fabrication and installation contractors for quality and schedule adherence.
• Lead handoff of commissioned systems to operations with complete documentation and acceptance tests.
