Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer focusing on metal structures. You will own design, analysis, testing, and optimization of sheet metal components and assemblies, addressing DFM challenges and coordinating with procurement and manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate has substantial experience in sheet metal design, FEA/CFD tools, and hands-on prototyping, with a track record of delivering robust, cost-effective solutions for large-scale energy deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in mechanical engineering or higher.
• Experience with sheet metal design and assembly.
• Experience applying tolerance stack‑ups and DFM principles.

Responsibilities

• Own design, analysis, testing, and optimization of structural systems.
• Perform FEA analyses and tolerance stack‑ups for robust designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, NPI, test, and reliability teams.
• Interface with vendors for manufacturing quality and timely delivery.
