Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking Senior Mechanical Design Engineers with a focus on electrical enclosures and cables to advance our Linear Generator platform.

You will lead from requirements through design, testing, and release, collaborating across electrical, manufacturing, and reliability teams to deliver cost-effective, robust solutions.

Ideal candidates combine strong CAD skills, thermal modeling, and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced, scalable energy tech environment.

Qualifications

• Ownership of electrical enclosure and/or cable design from concept to launch.
• Strong background in sheet metal design for medium-volume production.
• Experience with electrical systems and thermal modeling.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional reviews and coordinate testing and release.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, optimization, and execution of electrical hardware to meet performance and manufacturability targets.
• Coordinate testing and cross-functional reviews to ensure milestones are met.
• Collaborate with reliability, test teams and external suppliers to deploy designs into production.
• Develop requirements, prototyping, testing, iteration and tooling for projects.
