Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the frame and air spring subsystem design for our Linear Generator technology. You will drive 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks), FEA/CFD analysis, and testing, ensuring tight alignment under high loads and during thermal cycling.

You will collaborate with Controls, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to enable integration and support NPI through DFMs, work instructions, and tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
• 6+ years in mechanical design engineering for demanding applications.
• Experience with frame structures and high-load environments.
• Proven ability to deliver designs from concept to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of frame and air spring subsystems.
• 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks) and engineering analysis (FEA/CFD).
• Testing, root-cause investigations, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Controls, Manufacturing, and Suppliers for integration.
• Plan verification and validation testing to meet requirements.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and drive process improvements.
