Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Staff Level 5) to join the Launcher Hardware team, supporting Navy platforms. The role emphasizes design concepts, GD&T drawings, and collaboration across stakeholders.

A strong background in machine design and the ability to work under schedule pressure are required. The position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM with 12+ years of engineering experience; Master with 10+; or PhD with 8 years of experience.
• Solid background in machine design and drawing generation.
• Ability to plan tasks and execute to schedule.
• US citizen and able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs concept and generate solid models reflecting concepts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to evaluate best design approaches.
• Oversee the generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
