Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers Level 2 to join our Sunnyvale, CA team. You will contribute to launcher hardware development for Navy platforms, generating concept designs and detailed models on site.

The role requires BS in STEM with 2+ years of design experience or an MS with no experience, CAD proficiency (NX/CREO/SolidWorks), and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 2 years relevant work experience or Master’s Degree with no experience.
• Experience in machine design and drawing generation.
• Ability to plan tasks and meet schedules.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs concept and create solid models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to evaluate best design approaches.
• Produce engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
• Identify procurement needs and support fabrication.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
• Generate task plans and support proposals.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required.
