Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer at Level 3 or 4 to join our Launcher Hardware team. You will design, model, and analyze components for Navy platforms, collaborating with internal teams to meet schedules and cost targets.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience in machine design, drawing generation, and GD&T. Onsite work four days per week is mandatory, with US citizenship and a Secret clearance needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with 5+ years relevant work experience for Level 3.
• Experience in machine design and drawing generation.
• Ability to plan tasks and execute to the established schedule.
• Must be onsite 4 days a week; remote work is not an option.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs concept and generate solid models that reflect those concepts
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements
• Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches to fulfill requirements
• Oversee the generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices
• Identify procurement needs and support fabrication
• Provide assembly checkout and test support
• Generate task plans and support proposal efforts
• Occasional domestic travel may be required
