Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 5 to join our Marine Systems team, supporting launcher hardware for Navy platforms. You will develop designs, generate solid models, and collaborate with stakeholders to balance technical, schedule, and cost requirements.

The role requires a STEM degree with 12+ years, or an MS with 10+, or a PhD with 8+, plus a strong background in machine design, GD&T, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance.

• Solid background in machine design and drawing generation.
• Ability to plan tasks and work in fast-paced, multi-project environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and generate solid models reflecting concepts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to balance technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to evaluate best design approaches.
• Oversee generation of engineering drawings using GD&T.
• Identify procurement needs and support fabrication and nonconformance disposition.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
• Generate task plans and support proposals.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required.
