Job summary

Your Talent Team in Buffalo, NY is assisting a client, a manufacturer of temperature sensors, compression seal fittings, and cable harness assemblies, in hiring a Senior Product Design Engineer. You will design and develop precision products from concept through production release, combining mechanical design, analysis, prototyping, and collaboration with customers and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Progressive experience designing mechanical products or assemblies through production release.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, detailed drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering change control.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, mechanical interfaces, and design verification.
• Ability to independently manage technical work and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into product specifications and detailed design concepts.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, production drawings, bills of materials, and design documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, material selection, tolerance analysis, and design risk assessments.
• Design components and assemblies with temperature, pressure, sealing, interfaces, and manufacturability in mind.
• Develop prototype and validation plans, evaluate test results, and refine designs to meet performance requirements.
• Lead or contribute to design reviews and resolve technical issues with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
• Support new product introduction, engineering changes, and troubleshooting of production or field performance concerns.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and improve design practices and reusable engineering knowledge.
