Job summary

Top Echelon Software LLC on behalf of a manufacturer of temperature sensors, compression seal fittings, and cable/harness assemblies seeks a Senior Product Design Engineer to drive design from concept through production release. You will translate requirements into detailed specifications and maintain CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and design records.

Responsibilities include calculations, material selection, tolerance analysis, and robust design for temperature and pressure interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Progressive experience designing mechanical products through production release.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, detailed drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and ECN.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, interfaces, and design verification.
• Ability to independently manage technical work and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements and application conditions into product specifications and detailed design concepts.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, production drawings, bills of materials, and design documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, material selection, tolerance analysis, and design risk assessments.
• Design components and assemblies with appropriate consideration of temperature, pressure, sealing, interfaces, and manufacturability as applicable.
• Develop prototype and validation plans, evaluate test results, and refine designs to meet performance requirements.
• Lead or contribute to design reviews and resolve technical issues with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
• Support new product introduction, engineering changes, and troubleshooting of production or field performance concerns.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and improve design practices and reusable engineering knowledge.
