Job summary

BestLogic Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client, a manufacturer of temperature sensors, compression seal fittings, and cable and harness assemblies, for a Senior Product Design Engineer position in Buffalo, NY. The role combines hands-on mechanical design, analysis, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable solutions.

Responsibilities include translating requirements into specs, maintaining CAD models and drawings, performing calculations and tolerance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and progressive experience designing mechanical products or precision assemblies.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, detailed drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering change control.
• Ability to independently manage technical work, document decisions, and collaborate across functions.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, interfaces, and design verification.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements and conditions into product specifications and design concepts.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, production drawings, bills of materials, and design documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, material selection, tolerance analysis, and design risk assessments.
• Design components and assemblies with temperature, pressure, sealing, interfaces, and manufacturability in mind.
• Develop prototype and validation plans, evaluate test results, and refine designs to meet performance targets.
• Lead or contribute to design reviews and resolve technical issues with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
• Support new product introduction, engineering changes, and troubleshooting of production or field issues.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and improve design practices and reusable knowledge.
