Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Jupiter, FL, seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for the Compression Systems Engineering group to support F135 Base or ECU CIPTs. Onsite role with travel; U.S. citizenship required and relocation eligibility.

You will lead advanced design tasks, apply 3D modeling, support validation, conduct root-cause analyses, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across IPTs. Salary range 86,800–165,200 USD, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project-management tools.
• Understanding of engine hardware, 2D drawings, MBD, and manufacturing methods.
• Solid data-management and processing skills.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for improved engineering results.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with attention to detail.
• Experience with NX, Teamcenter, engineering standard work, SAP, Class I & II EC processes.
• ANSYS experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative design solutions that meet program milestones.
• Lead or support producibility initiatives, including EFPRs on/off site.
• Support ECU Design Validation activities, EFPRs and module integration.
• Apply advanced 3D modeling to refine component- and module-level designs.
• Lead or support root-cause analyses of field incidents.
• Develop serviceable limits using data-processing methods.
• Participate in multi-week engine tear-downs at Tinker AFB.
• Collaborate with IPTs across design, structures, aero, HT&SF, manufacturing, and quality.
• Support safety-risk analyses and present results to customers and program management.
• Mentor and support early-career engineers.
• Improve efficiency with data-mining, smart tools, and AI.
• Domestic travel of 10–20% may be required.
