Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for the Compression Systems Engineering group to advance HPC component design for F135 CIPTs. You will lead technically sound solutions, coordinate across IPTs, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced environment.

You will apply advanced modeling, perform root-cause analysis, and contribute to safety analyses while collaborating with design, aero, manufacturing, and quality teams onsite at ADR.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience; U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with IPTs and program managers.
• Experience with NX, Teamcenter, SAP, and Class I & II EC processes; familiarity with AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative and technically sound design solutions meeting schedule milestones.
• Lead or support producibility initiatives and EFPRs, remotely or on-site.
• Support ECU design validation activities and module integration coordination.
• Apply advanced 3D modeling tools for component- and module-level designs.
• Lead or support root-cause analysis in engineering tasks and incidents.
• Create safety-risk analyses and risk mitigation plans; present results to customers.
• Mentor early-career engineers and drive engineering efficiency with data-mining and smart tools.
