Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Compression Systems Engineering specialist to provide analytical design support and leadership for aerospace engine components onsite in the US. The role emphasizes FE analysis, validation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to meet durability, performance, and weight goals.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in structural analysis with FEM tools (ANSYS APDL/Workbench) and can lead junior engineers while coordinating with external teams. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+ years of structures experience.
• Advanced degree with 5+ years of structures experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for design, development, validation, certification, manufacturing, and service.
• Use FE and classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance.
• Cover validation testing (engine and rig) and data reduction.
• Support in-service field investigations.
• Participate on multi-discipline teams to balance durability, performance, cost and weight.
• Provide leadership oversight and guidance for junior engineers and outsourced tasks.
• Coordinate with others to advance technology and improve engineering processes.
• Document and present results to management and external customers.
