Job summary

Join CannonDesign through its Facility Optimization Solutions as a Mechanical Assessor. You will lead mechanical and plumbing assessments across healthcare, education, and commercial facilities, documenting deficiencies and providing budgetary cost estimates.

Travel up to 40% is required; you’ll mentor junior assessors, coordinate with clients, and support project managers. The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and strong communication to drive capital planning.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting mechanical and plumbing facility condition assessments.
• Healthcare and educational institutions experience preferred.
• Ability to lead and document assessments with client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site facility condition assessments with a multidisciplinary team.
• Evaluate HVAC, piping, ductwork, boilers, and related systems.
• Document system condition and remaining useful life with clear notes.
• Provide recommendations and rough cost estimates for deficiencies.
• Lead and mentor junior assessors and support project managers.
• Interview operations staff and prepare project progress documentation.
• Review peer work and participate in post-project reviews.
