Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials Design Engineer to join the Engines and MEMS Sensors design team in Burnsville, MN. You will lead projects, manage schedules, and interface with customers to meet requirements at the lowest cost.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years experience, strong design and material selection skills, and proficiency in CAD. Onsite work and collaboration across global teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience managing compliance demonstrations to customer/regulatory requirements.
• Experience delivering design/project reviews and presentations.
• Experience writing test procedures, coordinating testing, and writing test reports.
• Experience with materials properties/selection and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Support bids and proposals for new engine sensors.
• Support existing designs with failure investigations and documentation updates.
• Review product specifications and determine design requirements and scope of work.
• Lead complex multi-discipline teams and manage estimates of effort/duration.
• Create and manage project schedules and conduct stage gate reviews.
