Job summary

RTX in Burnsville, MN, seeks a Senior Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials Design Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary design efforts in engines and MEMS sensors, delivering reliable products to meet customer requirements at competitive cost.

You will mentor engineers, manage schedules, present stage-gate reviews to customers, and collaborate across functions with Lean Product Development focus to drive reuse and know-how.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience managing compliance demonstrations to customer or regulatory requirements.
• Experience preparing and delivering design or project review presentations.
• Experience writing test procedures, coordinating testing, and writing test reports.
• Experience with materials properties/selection and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Support bids and proposals for engine sensors and related products.
• Assist with failure investigations, product improvements, and documentation updates.
• Review product specifications and determine design requirements and scope of work.
• Lead multi-discipline teams and manage complex projects.
• Prepare and present stage-gate design reviews to customers and internal teams.
• Create design concepts and perform trade studies to optimize configurations.
