Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Bench Department Manager for the Meat Department. You will lead daily operations, ensure high-quality guest service, drive sales growth, and manage staff in a fast-paced retail setting.

After training, you may move into a Department Manager role within 30 miles of your home, with opportunities to develop plans for high-potential staff and maintain compliance with safety and company standards.

Qualifications

• High school education and 3-4 years of progressive supermarket experience.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally and 25lbs constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of meat operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Excellent communication, guest service, and selling skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the meat department.
• Achieve budgeted financial results for the department.
• Prepare products for sale according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Implement and maintain in-store selling culture and merchandising programs.
• Schedule the department and manage staffing.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and ALI audits.
• Provide training and development plans for staff and build a talent bench.
• Maintain sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Maintain coolers and freezers to standard.
• Execute weekly pricing audits and sales-related tasks.
• Own the entire meat department and coordinate with DSD Receiver and scan coordinator.
• Foster a selling-focused, guest-centric environment.
