Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Model‑Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the MDA Targets and Countermeasures program. You will develop and maintain SysML system models, trace requirements, and support milestone reviews.

Collaborate with government leads, primes, and cross‑functional teams to ensure architecture integrity and successful digital engineering integration. A strong background in MBSE tools and system interfaces is essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• 7+ years supporting missile defense or large-scale DoD programs.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Proficiency with SysML and core systems engineering frameworks (DoDAF/UAF).
• Hands-on MBSE modeling tools: Cameo, MagicDraw, Sparx EA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain descriptive system models using SysML across DoD programs.
• Trace system-level and component-level requirements to architecture artifacts.
• Link MBSE models to simulations and data repositories within Digital Engineering initiatives.
• Assist in preparing model-centric artifacts for major milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, CCBs).
• Conduct architectural trade studies and interface analyses (IDDs/ICDs).
• Maintain version control and configuration baseline compliance for SysML models.
