Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an experienced Model-Based Systems Engineer to support the MDA Targets and Countermeasures program. You will apply MBSE in a digital engineering framework to create and maintain system architecture models, tracing requirements and supporting milestone reviews.

The role requires 7+ years in missile defense programs, DoD Secret clearance, and hands-on MBSE tooling with Cameo, MagicDraw, or Sparx.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree required.
7+ years supporting missile defense or large DoD programs.
Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
Proficiency with SysML and DoD frameworks (DoDAF/UAF).
Hands-on MBSE modeling with Cameo, MagicDraw, or Sparx tools.
Ability to distill complex architectures into clear diagrams and docs.

Responsibilities

System Modeling & Architecture: develop SysML models capturing behavior, structure, interfaces, and requirements.
Requirements Traceability: map requirements to architecture artifacts with end-to-end traceability.
Digital Engineering: link MBSE models with simulations and data repositories.
Baseline Reviews: prepare/model-centric artifacts for SRR, PDR, CDR, and CCBs.
Interface & Trade Studies: analyze ICDs/IDDs and model interfaces to resolve risks.
Configuration & Data Mgmt: maintain version control for SysML models per standards.
