PSE's Communications & Marketing team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Senior Marketing Manager position!

Job Description

Responsible for designing and implementing integrated marketing strategies to meet and exceed customer engagement and adoption goals of PSE's priority initiatives, programs, products and services. Leads development and execution of acquisition focused campaigns to reach various PSE customer segments; audiences include homeowners, renters, small to medium business and commercial / industrial customers. Accountable for the success of marketing campaigns and overall tactical performance. In addition, responsible for execution go-to-market strategies for new products.

Aligns departments and initiatives on key marketing opportunities and ensures the needs, changing priorities and desired outcomes of customers are reflected in all marketing communications.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and / or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers marketing strategy, tactics and results aligned to program, product and corporate goals; implements the marketing work plan and reports on KPIs and success metrics.
  • Accountable for the success of marketing efforts designed to meet regulatory-driven targets and program goals, including managing campaign / tactical performance, optimization and marketing budget forecast.
  • Assigns and instructs the work of team peers as needed to achieve program and product goals and targets.
  • Directs marketing agency vendors, including overseeing budgets / forecasting, channel strategies and schedules, campaign optimization, ROI, metrics and reporting. Ensures vendor partners have strategic guidance, goals, budgets, assets and information needed to effectively support PSE's marketing goals and objectives. Responsible for marking sure all agency-produced materials meet PSE brand and voice standards through collaboration with brand leads.
  • Proactively engages with internal partners to inform the marketing work plan. Aligns business goals, objectives and strategies with customers' needs, priorities and outcomes.
  • Designs cross-promotional marketing experiences as appropriate. Seeks opportunities to bundle messages for audiences to maximize spend and visibility. This requires having an in-depth understanding of the company's business plan and how the customer experience is being addressed across multiple business units.
  • Contributes to the ongoing planning and execution of customer research efforts including : identifying key research questions, leading primary data collection, reviewing data collection instruments and reports, and participating in research finding presentations.
  • Performs emergency and storm duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, media, marketing, business innovation, business management or related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seven (7) years relevant work experience in communications and marketing.
  • Direct experience in marketing communications with consumer, commercial, industrial and / or institutional customers within a corporate and / or advertising agency environment, with budget oversight responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in customer communications and engagement process improvement.
  • Proven experience developing a customer research plan and utilizing research findings to inform and improve upon customer engagement goals, strategies and tactics.
  • Knowledge of best in class practices for customer engagement both within and outside of the utility industry.
  • Track record of innovation and creative thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability managing complex projects with cross-functional teams and in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment. Ultimate professionalism when working with internal and external partners.
  • Understanding of the techniques and processes needed to create a consistent and common voice across customer communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills and experience in collaboration and team building.
  • Professional level competencies necessary to comprehend, analyze, and influence a wide range of complex business units and corporate-wide initiatives and issues.
  • Ability to manage projects, work with other departmental teams and deliver on commitments.
  • Self-directed, with a commitment to consistency and quality across all aspects of marketing execution.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing high-impact customer acquisition campaigns that drive strong conversion rates and measurable growth.
  • Experience designing and implementing culturally sensitive and inclusive marketing strategies.
  • Experience leading marketing content strategy, including managing narrative strategy, editorial calendars and copyediting, with newsroom experience.
  • Experience managing advertising and creative agencies, including deliverables from concept through completion, schedules, optimization, etc.
  • LEAN certification, Project Management certification or Six Sigma certification.
  • Understanding of agile marketing best practices.
  • Broad knowledge of gas and electric utility rates, business objectives, to include operations, customer service, finance, and corporate relations.
  • Customer journey mapping, assessment and improvement.
  • Experience with Smartsheet or similar project management and workflow automation tools.

The pay range for this position is $104,500.00 - $174,100.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
