Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Engineer in the Market Risk Technology SRE team. You will lead resiliency efforts, break down complex problems for engineers, and mentor team members on technical and business issues.

Your role centers on reliability, performance, security, and scalable architecture across critical systems. You will design reviews, drive AI-assisted workflows, and ensure dependable operations for large-scale financial applications.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture and toil reduction.
• Fluent in Python programming language.
• Experience using AI capabilities to improve SRE workflows with validation and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to evaluate AI-enabled recommendations for correctness and risk with guardrails.
• Proficient knowledge of observability, SLOs, alerting and telemetry collection.
• Proficient with CI/CD practices and tooling.
• Proficient with container orchestration and related tooling.
• Experience troubleshooting common networking technologies.
• Advanced knowledge and ongoing self-education in technical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Champions site reliability culture and documents knowledge for the team.
• Leads reliability initiatives to improve service levels using data-driven analytics.
• Collaborates to define service level indicators and objectives with stakeholders.
• Uses AI capabilities to accelerate incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis with proper validation.
• Acts as primary contact during major incidents to minimize financial impact.
• Provides technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
• Leads adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows with traceability and security controls.
