Job summary

Motability Operations is seeking a Market & Risk Forecasting Lead to own the UK automotive and used-vehicle market outlook, developing central forecasts, assumptions, sensitivities and scenarios that drive our valuation and risk decisions.

You will translate modelling outputs and market evidence into a clear narrative for senior stakeholders, work with Risk Modelling and other teams, and contribute to quarterly Residual Value Reviews and fleet revaluations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in quantitative forecasting, economic analysis or risk modelling in a commercial setting.
• Experience developing, interpreting or validating models used to support business decisions.
• Ability to translate quantitative analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own Motability Operations' quantitative outlook for the UK automotive and used-vehicle market, including central forecast and scenarios.
• Analyse how macroeconomic factors influence vehicle values such as growth, inflation, employment and interest rates.
• Collaborate with Risk Modelling to ensure model outputs support the market outlook and decisions.
• Define assumptions and questions reflected in forecasting models.
• Review model updates and outputs, combining quantitative evidence with market intelligence.
• Assess whether relationships remain appropriate as conditions evolve.
• Translate modelling outputs into a clear market narrative for senior stakeholders.
• Provide forecasting inputs into quarterly Residual Value Reviews and fleet revaluations.
