Job summary

First Solar Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Scaling leader to work cross-functionally with Development Engineering, Integrated Supply-Chain, EHS and Quality & Reliability to scale and qualify new technology into high-volume manufacturing.

You will provide technical leadership in formulation control, data-driven process improvements, and equipment qualification, mentoring engineers, and leading Six Sigma projects to improve safety, throughput, yield, and device performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or PhD in chemistry with extensive relevant experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Proven ability to apply DOE and Six Sigma tools to process improvement.
• Background in coating processes, materials characterization, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and contribute to EHS/quality improvements.
• Develop, qualify and document robust solar module manufacturing processes.
• Serve as SME for assigned process or equipment sets.
• Design and execute process experiments; analyze and present results.
• Collaborate with equipment OEMs to install and qualify tools.
• Lead Six Sigma projects and mentor junior engineers/technicians.
