Merck & Co. seeks a Senior Technician in Operations to provide advanced technical leadership for sustaining safe, reliable manufacturing. You will optimize equipment setup, changeovers, and resolve automation and electrical issues across multiple teams.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, RCA, and continuous improvement to enhance uptime, product quality, and schedule adherence at our Texas site in Irving.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of technical experience in manufacturing/operations.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of industrial equipment, including PM and changeovers.
• Experience diagnosing faults across automation, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret schematics and safely coordinate repairs.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for equipment setup, adjustment, changeover, troubleshooting, repair, and problem‑solving.
• Diagnose recurring equipment failures using root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Develop equipment‑specific preventive maintenance strategies and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Planning and Engineering.
• Drive improvements in uptime, changeover performance, maintenance completion, product quality, and schedule attainment.
• Evaluate and implement approved equipment/automation improvements ensuring safety and quality compliance.
• Provide technical leadership and training to strengthen site capabilities.
