Job summary

GE Vernova in Schenectady, NY seeks a Senior Special Processes Quality & Process Engineer to lead gauge lab, weld/braze school, and non-destructive testing programs ensuring adherence to NIST, ASME, ISO standards. You will drive audits, cross-functional quality improvements, training, and qualification of personnel across shifts.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Quality and 10–15 years in large industrial manufacturing, with Level II NDT certifications and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Quality from an accredited university
• 10-15 years of experience in large industrial manufacturing
• Level II certification in at least 2 NDT disciplines: NDT, LPI, MPI, or UT
• Analytical thinking and structured problem solving
• Strong communication and influencing skills

Responsibilities

• Own and manage gauge lab operations and calibration documentation to NIST/ISO standards
• Lead weld and braze school operations and supervise staff on first shift
• Act as resident technical authority for NDT practices and train Level II personnel
• Conduct internal audits and support external ISO/AS9100 audits
• Drive systemic fixes to prevent recurrence and improve quality
