Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, in Decatur, AL, seeks a Senior Process Improvement Engineer to own equipment and tooling in the production area and drive OEE and process improvements. You will troubleshoot issues, lead maintenance actions, and collaborate across Operations, Safety, and Quality to raise safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role requires a Engineering degree with several years in high‑volume manufacturing, plus strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical field, or equivalent education & experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering/Operations/Quality support roles or equivalent military experience.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills coupled with interpersonal skills.
• Advanced computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft products with the ability to grasp new systems quickly.
• Strong project management with high analytical and problem-solving skills
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in high volume manufacturing environment in an Engineering role or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own all equipment and tooling in the production area, from Engineering sign-off and forward.
• Serve as the primary troubleshooting resource for the process in the plant. Consult with maintenance staff on equipment repair.
• Monitor and work to improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) in the area.
• Responsible for and lead corrective action for Preventative Maintenance plans to ensure compliance and maximize equipment uptime.
• Active participant in the development of the Manufacturing Control Plan and ensure it is adhered to within the production area.
• Engage in and lead problem-solving for production area. Lead root cause identification of problems, implement appropriate countermeasures, and share across as best practice.
