Job summary

Hypertherm Associates in Kent, WA, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive continuous improvement in CNC machining. You will lead projects, set objectives, and deliver value through Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM practices.

You will mentor technicians, design tooling for new product introductions, analyze CP/CPK, and manage Capex deployments. Relocation assistance is available and the role emphasizes collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is required.
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing engineering role with CNC machining experience.
  • Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Deep knowledge of GD&T and statistical analysis (CP, CPK).
  • Experience applying SMED and Lean/Six Sigma principles.

Responsibilities

  • Drive operational excellence across a high-mix, low-volume multi-process value stream embedding quality and improving OEE.
  • Develop reliable processes applying Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles for stability.
  • Oversee multiple projects with Capex justification, milestones, and budget-aware completion.
  • Improve processes via technical solutions and lead engineers/technicians; be a technical expert in PM, automation, controls, mechanical design, DFMA, FMEA.
  • Build relationships with production and cross-functional teams; communicate goals at all levels.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and workstations for new product introductions; provide DFMA feedback; lead or participate in FMEA.
  • Manage investigation, justification, and procurement of new equipment; help define equipment/process roadmap.
