Job summary

Hypertherm Associates in Kent, WA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer (MPE) to lead a team of four engineers and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The role blends people leadership with industrial engineering expertise to improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.

You will lead cross-functional projects, mentor team members, and partner with Quality to implement root cause actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Experience leading projects and directing technical resources.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, pFMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to influence across functions and drive results through collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Manufacturing Process Engineers.
  • Drive safety initiatives and ensure safety procedures are integrated into manufacturing processes.
  • Support production teams in resolving technical challenges and improving performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Design and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and workstations.
  • Lead pFMEA activities and apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize processes.
  • Provide DFMA feedback during new product development and introduction.
  • Evaluate, justify, and implement new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
  • Develop equipment and process technology roadmaps.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, establish project plans, budgets, and schedules, and communicate progress to leadership.
  • Establish engineering standards, mentor engineers and technicians, and foster technical growth within the team.
