Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm seeking a seasoned professional to advance operations improvements for manufacturing and distribution in the Washington, DC area.

You will lead assessments, develop transformation plans, and drive cost‑improvement initiatives while coordinating with clients and teams to deliver tangible results. A&M emphasizes meritocracy, training, and broad employee development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 4 years specializing in manufacturing and/or distribution.
• Deep functional expertise in one or more: Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing Operations & SI&OP, Footprint optimization, Lean, Six Sigma, TOC, and Value Engineering.
• Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.
• Specific experience designing and leading the execution of internally and externally focused change/communications strategy.
• Previous strategy and change management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of a target’s manufacturing and distribution operations—organization design, production capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing, and team capability.
• Evaluate the maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review current and historical data to understand efficiency & capacity, including equipment conditions, maintenance logs, spare parts, and detailed production numbers.
• Provide shop floor insights by talking with employees and customers and reviewing all available data.
• Identify potential cost improvement opportunities through lean improvements, outsourcing or consolidation of facilities.
• Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes and identify key risks and mitigation strategies.
• Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day‑to‑day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
