Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Electrical/Test Engineer in Melbourne, FL to contribute to test process development, verification, and sustaining test equipment and procedures for manufacturing products.

The role focuses on improving test yields, reducing downtime, and supporting production readiness with cross-functional teams, while mentoring engineers and ensuring documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in electronics manufacturing industry with product testing focus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product quality.
  • Identify component test failure trends and perform root cause analysis. Implement corrective actions to resolve. Prepare test failure analysis reports as required for production.
  • Study performance and reliability of existing test equipment and establish programs and solutions for decreasing test equipment downtime.
  • Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction, test efficiency, test yields improvement, and manufacturing test capacity opportunities.
  • Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs. Identify new test approaches that will minimize production staffing needs and capital requirements.
  • Select and order capital test equipment using sound cost/payback analysis. Generate and track Appropriation Requests.
  • Improve existing test fixtures, equipment, and critical spares needed to improve test performance and equipment uptime.
  • Participates in Production Readiness Reviews to determine suitability of new designs for production.
