Job summary

RTX’s Collins Aerospace unit seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and maintain hardware for avionics systems. This onsite role in Melbourne, FL focuses on analog, RF, digital circuits and PCB layout support, with hands-on test and validation responsibilities.

You will analyze components, troubleshoot hardware, and contribute to design improvements while collaborating across engineering teams and documenting outcomes.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain awareness of obsolete parts on assigned products. Provide appropriate resolution to obsolete parts.
• Design and analyze analog and RF circuits using schematic capture tools and performance simulation tools.
• Characterize analog and RF signals using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
• Design and analyze digital circuits including computer hardware components (e.g., processors, memory, interfaces), and their performance characteristics (e.g., throughput, processing architecture, timing, capacity).
• Provide supervision and technical guidance for PCB layout.
• Perform hands‑on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.
• Perform validation and verification activities to ensure products meet design specifications.
• Contribute to engineering estimates for limited to moderate scope of electrical design problems.
• Review LRU defects trends, identify systemic root causes and process improvements and recommend new approaches, tools, and techniques that drive continuous improvements in the development processes.
• Use your excellent written and verbal communication for technical documentation and collaboration.
