Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach is seeking an experienced accountant to own day-to-day accounting for a complex manufacturing site, including inventory, costs, fixed assets, and capital projects.

You will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly closes, while partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Corporate Accounting to drive improvements and ensure GAAP compliance. On-site collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, manufacturing preferred.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial analyses.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and comfortable working in an ERP/financial-reporting system.
• Clear written and verbal communicator who can explain accounting requirements to non-finance partners.
• Able to juggle priorities and work primarily on-site with shop floor engagement.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting for a complex manufacturing site, including inventory, costs, labor, fixed assets, capital projects, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, and variance explanations for monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Support manufacturing cost accounting: standard costs, labor/machine rates, overhead, BOMs, routings, and variances.
• Reconcile inventory subledgers to the general ledger and support cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Handle fixed assets and capital projects end-to-end—additions, transfers, disposals, depreciation, and project close.
• Partner daily with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Corporate Accounting to improve controls and ERP processes.
