Job summary

CV Resources, in partnership with our client, a fast-growing aerospace and defense manufacturer, seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to lead inventory costing and month-end close. You will own weighted-average costing, perform reconciliations, and develop controls to support scale for growing operations.

Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure BOM changes are accurately reflected in the systems and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on cost, inventory, or manufacturing accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with BOMs, material usage, and COGS controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze inventory costs using weighted-average costing.
• Prepare monthly cost analyses and investigate cost fluctuations and drivers.
• Analyze manufacturing cost trends and variances (price, usage, labor, overhead).
• Partner with Engineering/Manufacturing to reflect BOM changes in systems.
• Explain costing processes and results to Finance and operations teams.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Prepare inventory journal entries and reconciliations; roll-forwards.
• Develop cycle counts and physical inventory procedures; investigate variances.
• Establish scalable inventory/accounting processes and internal controls.
