Job summary

Blue Origin in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Manager to lead a team of structural analysts responsible for Thermal/Fluids core components products, ensuring technical quality and readiness.

You will coach staff, drive staffing, set goals, and align with product and program managers, while contributing technical input in Structural Integrity and roadmap planning within the HLS Sustaining Lunar Development program.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for technical quality of work delivered and career management of employees.
• 10+ years of experience with static structural, modal, random vibration, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance.
• Strong understanding of analysis fundamentals from first principles.

Responsibilities

• Supply people, processes, and tools needed to meet demand signals specified by project, Product team managers and program managers.
• Negotiate Statements of Work with respective product managers.
• Staff projects, reconciling project needs with staff capabilities and negotiating time commitments.
• Recruit and hire additional staff or secure contract labor when demand exceeds capacity.
• Manage direct reports' professional development and coach them on maximizing performance.
• Ensure staff are properly trained, including participation in Blue Origin safety culture.
• Provide performance feedback for employees at evaluation periods.
• Develop opportunities for team members to align with product needs and advance the team's capabilities.
