Job summary

Blend is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting to lead our Technical Accounting function and address complex accounting matters. You will collaborate across the Finance organization to drive initiatives, implement controls, and stay ahead of standards changes.

You will oversee research, provide guidance on GAAP issues, and partner with auditors while driving process automation and AI-enabled improvements. This role offers remote-friendly work with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Experience with process automation and applying AI to accounting workflows.
• 10+ years of progressive experience focusing on technical accounting and US GAAP.
• Active CPA with prior public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting research and document conclusions in formal position papers.
• Serve as liaison with external auditors to align accounting positions.
• Design, implement, and operate SOX 404 controls over technical accounting areas.
• Stay current with FASB and SEC initiatives and assess financial impact.
• Be a trusted business partner to stakeholders across Accounting, Finance, Legal and cross-functional teams.
• Build technical accounting capability across the finance organization through training and scalable frameworks.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end close for technical accounting matters and oversee journal entries and disclosures.
• Take a leadership role in special projects and AI-enabled workflow improvements.
