Job summary

University of Miami seeks a Senior Manager, Business Operations to coordinate department functions, oversee staff, and analyze performance trends to support Managed Care and Business Development initiatives.

You will lead operational initiatives, manage onboarding, budgeting, and cost-reduction efforts while ensuring policy compliance and strategic project execution across the department.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop and present data and information to diverse audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to serve as a productive member of team and/or task force.
• Strong grasp of the business of health care and financial principles and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communications and quantitative and analytical skills.
• Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphics and other relevant tools.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, oversees, evaluates, trains and monitors department staff.
• Manages customer service, accounts payable, purchasing, and office operations.
• Assists in the preparation of department budget, ensures compliance with applicable restrictions, and makes recommendations for cost reduction.
• Provides recommendations and ideas regarding strategy and operational initiatives to senior managing staff.
• Ensures department compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
• Prepares department performance reports, and creates/develops business strategies and supervises critical path activities to troubleshoot or elevate problems.
• Acts as liaison to department and external sources as needed to ensure business operations run smoothly.
