Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Senior Manager of Systems Engineering for the Maritime Systems Engineering Department in Rancho Bernardo, CA. Qualifications

• Bachelor's/MS/PhD in engineering or related field with 11+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Detailed expertise in systems engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice.
• Ability to resolve complex management and technical problems and serve as a technical expert.
• Experience as lead systems engineer or integrator in complex system development.
• Experience across multiple engineering areas and system-level integration.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; customer-facing ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct all unit activities to meet technical, quality, and financial goals.
• Support contract negotiations, proposals, and budgeting.
• Act as primary contact for unit activities and lead reviews of costs, schedule, and performance.
• Define system engineering concepts, criteria, and efforts for product research, development, and testing.
• Develop and monitor master plans, milestones, and schedules.
• Lead in identifying issues and re-allocating resources or adjusting specifications.
• Drive annual and long-term objectives for programs and pursue new business opportunities.
• Support talent attraction, retention and development within the division.
