Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or PhD in engineering or related technical discipline with progressive engineering experience.
• Engineering degree preferred; science degree may be accepted with appropriate experience.
• Strong skills in management, project management, leadership, communication, systems engineering.
• Experience in at least one engineering technical discipline (e.g., power electronics, drive trains, energy storage, optical/high-power lasers, mechanisms/structures, space systems).
• Knowledge of systems engineering processes, requirements flow-down, verification and validation.

Responsibilities

• Design the engineering development effort and lead the execution of the engineering process with the Chief Engineer and Project Manager.
• Accountable for the aggregate technical team, engineering plan, and performance to plan.
• Plan staffing with functional organizations to ensure required resources.
• Lead cross-functional engineering activities and IMS alignment with the PMP.
• Execute program plans to meet cost, schedule, production, and performance commitments.
• Support technical leadership on product design, development, and improvement projects with the PMO.
• Represent the project team to the engineering organization and PMO.
• Provide regular updates to PMO and senior leadership.
• Coordinate engineering tasks to IMS, budgeting, and milestones.
• Lead reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and ensure documentation and compliance.
