Job summary

General Atomics seeks an Electrical Engineering (EE) Manager to join GA-EMS Power Electronics and Systems Design in Rancho Bernardo. You will drive high‑power motor drives, power conditioning, laser systems, battery modules, and space/defense electronics in a fast‑paced R&D environment.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in engineering or a related field.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD clearance is required.
Experience in power electronics design (analog and digital).
Desirable: experience with power systems, DC-DC converters, embedded controls, and DoD review processes.
Strong communication and leadership skills for cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

Lead concept development, prototype design, integration, and test of power electronics across product lines.
Develop electrical architectures and perform system analyses; document findings and present results to management.
Plan and manage engineering programs, including staffing, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate design concepts and engineering efforts for product R&D, testing, and integration.
Serve as primary engineering contact with customers and internal stakeholders.
Contribute to proposals, budgets, and contractual specifications.
