Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Project Engineering Manager in Rancho Bernardo, CA to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team through the product lifecycle, focusing on systems engineering for Navy Ford-class ALRE programs.

This role reports to ALRE Program Engineering leadership and guides project engineers and control account managers in achieving technical, schedule, and cost objectives.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires advanced engineering degree and 11+ years of progressively complex engineering experience, with at least 5 years in management.
  • Demonstrates broad technical expertise and ability to lead planning, scheduling and workloads to milestones.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills for interfacing with management, customers and government.
  • Experience with lifecycle planning and systems engineering for DoD programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee department of project engineers and control account managers to meet technical, quality, business and financial objectives.
  • Set and drive annual and long-term objectives for engineering units and participate in broader company goals.
  • Develop design concepts and engineering approaches for product research, development, testing and integration.
  • Lead proposals, budgets and contract terms, and supervise performance reviews for the team.
