Job summary

Providence Swedish Medical Center is seeking a senior leader to oversee Linguistic Services across Swedish Health Services, including Swedish Edmonds. You will plan, implement and evaluate interpreter and translation services, ensuring LEP and sensory-impaired patients receive linguistically and culturally competent care.

This role provides operational oversight of staff and contractors, collaborates with state agencies, and drives system-wide initiatives to improve access and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, International/Area Studies or related field preferred.
• 7 years of management experience in patient care or social services
• 5 years of administrative or operational leadership experience
• 3 years recent experience in a leadership role
• Experience working in interpreter/translation service delivery
• Experience managing/coaching diverse staff
• Experience in managing a diverse workforce and creating a departmental environment that respects diversity
• Experience in providing leadership in evaluating and implementing new technologies to support optimal, efficient service
• Experience in planning, implementing and managing change processes within an organization
• Demonstrated experience working under pressure with diverse patient and staff groups

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of linguistic services across SHS.
• Provide operational oversight for staff and contracted interpreters and translation services.
• Foster partnerships to ensure access to interpretation in person, phone and video.
• Lead system-wide initiatives to promote cultural competence and language access.
